Why we write things down.

A short account of where Nevarix came from and what it is trying to do for reporters across Kenya.

1.1 — Where This Started

A gap noticed one newsroom at a time.

Nevarix began after years of watching reporters make the same careful judgement calls — how to treat an anonymous tip, when to hold a story, how to phrase a correction — without ever writing the reasoning down. The knowledge lived in people, not in documents, and it left with them when they moved on.

What started as informal conversations with a handful of freelancers in Nairobi grew into a structured practice: sitting with reporters, one clause at a time, until their standards existed on paper in language they recognised as their own.

That is still the whole method. Nevarix does not sell a template. It sits with you long enough to write down what you already believe about your own work.

What We Hold To

2.1

Method Over Instinct

A standard is only useful once it is written down and can be checked against, not just remembered under pressure.

2.2

Your Words, Not Ours

Every clause is drafted through conversation. We do not hand over a boilerplate and call it finished.

2.3

No Pressure, No Deadline

Sessions run at a pace set by you. There is no benefit to rushing a document you will rely on for years.
